This weekend sees a great exhibition of a new creative design hub in Dublin 1. This launch exhibition has taken the Williams and Woods chocolate factory which used to make Toblerones and Rolos now hosts cafes, upcyclers designers, architects and food producers in a Dublin central creative hub. This Friday the 19th June will see Tricia Harris and Stephen Doyle, Bang on the lights, Attic and Bizou, Gareth Brennan Architects, The Butler did it, Gildas O Laoire and Shane Holland Design Workshops celebrating Irish Design with this showcase exhibition on Kings Inn St Dublin 1. It will feature the launch on Friday and Talks and design clinics through till Sunday. This great early example of concrete structured buildings is a great place to see design and have a glass of wine and tapas in the Blas cafe, hope you can make it along this weekend.
These images of The recently completed Dublin Chamber of Commerce refurbishment by MCO Projects was an initiative to show and use the best of Irish Design 2015 in this key reception area in Dublin's Clare st. Dublin Chamber of Commerce is one of the world's oldest registered chambers and it was a brave move to introduce contemporary design to this traditional georgian building. We were happy to design a large version of our Wilde Cage lights from the centre-piece decorative ceiling rose along with 3 standard sized Wilde Cage Light models in copper set out over Stephen O'Briain's beautiful reception desk and supplemented with Fergal O' Leary of Horizon's lounge seats. The Shane Holland SKA lights in hammered copper and Leo Scarff's wall unit complete the picture. We are grateful photographer Ste Murray to www.ste.ie for use of his great photos.
