At Shane Holland Design, we had the opportunity to have some of our products featured in Só Collective- a contemporary exclusively Irish fashion, design and lifestyle store at Kildare Village. The collection includes womenswear, menswear, accessories, textiles, lighting and furniture from emerging talent in Ireland and already established industry leaders.
You can see the products we have chosen to sell above; the Wilde Cage floor light, the Arthur, the Ruray Mór, the Etang and the Tablín and Stoolín.
If you would like to purchase some of these SHDW favourites at discounted prices, you can visit Só Collective at Unit 72 in the newly opened Phase 2 of Kildare Village.
We recently tried 3D printing as a rapid prototyping method, a first for Shane Holland Design Workshops. We used a local hub in Drogheda to produce the shapes you see above.
While they may look slightly rough at the moment, after some sanding and priming they will be used for master patterns in silicone molds. Then we will use cast bronze to create hinges and feet for a firescreen. This final pieces will then be sandblasted and a clear lacquer coat will be applied. We look forward to seeing the results of the printed parts which we would have made the models by hand in the past.
These bronze parts are for a private client in France and we hope to use a Dublin foundry to cast the bronze.
