To celebrate the centenary of the founding of Henry Ford and Son Ltd in Cork in 1917. Shane Holland Design Workshops were commissioned to create a presentation piece recently presented in Cork City Hall during the visit of the Ford Family and CEO of Ford Mr William Clay Ford Jnr to the city his Grandfather founded Ford's first plant outside of the USA. in designing ths piece, we created outlines of the Model T Ford, the Popular, the Escort, and The Mustang to show some of the output of the company over the last century. The Popular and Escort being some of the models produced in the Cork Facility up to 1984. Irelands links to Ford were significant given that Henry Ford's father left County Cork some 70 years earlier emigrating to Michigan. Subsequently Henry Ford not only invented the revolutionary production system which made the Model T a widespread success. We were pleased to be asked by Verve live agency to produce this gift made in native stained hardwood, acrylic and aluminium. We laser etched the outlines in black and clear to create a double image with the base being hand carved sanded and stained and wax finished. This is just one of a stable of many premium awards and presentation pieces for domestic and international clients.
