Having completed the Light and Building show in Frankfurt 2018. Following big winds at sea and a big fall of snow in Frankfurt, this was certainly a challenge of the elements. I still Cruised into hall 5.1 armed with our Cruise lights made of pressure cylinders, the new Element pendant light made of copper heating elements, and a skeleton. The Skeletal piece provided the main talking point and our Porpoise Hibernicus sculpture made from a found Porpoise vertebra found by myself off the north Dublin coast in the Irish Sea. Frankfurt provided many exciting displays in the show including Luminale and the lighting feature of mannequin pieces on the Zumtobel stand was straight from a Kraftwerk video. This biennial show is certainly one of the world's main coming together of technologists, lighting design and a centre for the wider industry to strutt their stuff and meet contacts from around the world. I was happy to meet many old and new friends along the way. With long road trips, set ups and sea journeys it was still worth the trip. Thanks to those who dropped in on our stand and my local LEO office who supported us along this journey.
